GNER WI-FI On Way To ALT-C 06

We are now in true age of internet where I can sit here typing my blog entry on wi-fi on a train well almost true internet age. In gner onboard magazine and in it there is an advert saying watch tv on the train. The advert in question is for slingbox a nifty device that you connect to your tv and broadband connection at home then from internet you can watch your tv.

But to be honest I could not watch tv of connection I am using on there trains yes it is good that they have this service (hint to central trains and others) but the connection so up and down that gets very annoying and no way could I watch TV unless I had to.

To be fair they give you 10 minutes free for trouble of bad connection and slow connection (which sometimes can slow right down) but still I couldn’t hold a meeting online even on msn and no way on skype.

But anyway somewhere between newcastle and edinburgh.#]

  1. I’m reading this on the train back down, again via the onbaord wifi, having been in Edinburgh for the curverider conference today. I’m sure our trains must have passed each other at some point. Surreal!
Have a good time at ALT-C - I look forward to reading about it.
