Day Two ALT-C 2006
Seocnd day has started first session was a interesting two part talk about Digital Student and M-Learning.
Chris Boyne presented a paper on Digital Students (http://www.alt.ac.uk/altc2006/timetable/abstract.php?abstract_id=775 ) unfortunately it was not his paper but presenting on behalf of someone at last minute so he stumbled bit through it.
What came out of the pan-Europe research was that people who were not in traditional digital student (aka under 20) that they could become digital students just as easy.
One interesting point the research came back that Mobiles phones was the highest used technology across Europe.
Second Session was from Lifelong Learning To M-Learning (http://www.alt.ac.uk/altc2006/timetable/abstract.php?abstract_id=877) presented by A/Professor Marie-Therese Barbaux.
The main key points of this was that M-Learning is very much integrated into students social interaction as well. Students are now content providers (this I suppose is much wider thing with the likes of BBC, SKY news wanting Mobile pictures and videos of news events).
She also put forward the framework for M-Learning basics of it was: -
Framework for M-Learning
Pedagogy
Community
Ubiquity
Mobility
I will expand this later once I get back to my room where there is a copy of the paper.
